UFO 50 is a compilation of games by UFO Soft for the LX Series of game machines.
…In reality, it’s a collection of games developed and published by Mossmouth that share a unified 8-bit aesthetic while incorporating modern game design principles. It spans a wide range of genres, puts unconventional twists on familiar play, and doesn’t try hard to make every game for everyone, but does make it easy to try new things you wouldn’t otherwise.
Who are you? This wiki is a project started by 68K Heart, but currently in the process of expanding to a small team of maintainers and regular contributors.
Why are you doing this? We believe in the open and accessible sharing of information, especially about things we love. We’re also do documentation professionally, — and other various cool software engineering things! — so this is just normal behavior for us. Probably not for most folks though. :-)
These were originally our own, private notes about the game, but after showing them to some folks and learning no one else at that point had made a wiki, decided to work on cleaning up and publishing them. We’re building a team of several other folks to help flesh out the wiki with more complete and in-depth info. Its goal is to be a comprehensive resource to the world of UFO 50.
What is this hosted on? This wiki is hosted by Notion, a cool software service for managing notes. We fell in love with it at a previous job, and have been using it ever since.
How can I contribute? Get in touch with us via Signal, Bluesky, or Discord. If you need to, you can also use Telegram or…Twitter…
We are not currently accepting additional maintainers. Seats in Notion cost money, and we’re currently between jobs with no income.
